The Import Project window sets the initial parameters for an imported project, and the information can be changed later. Settings include an optional series name, book title, title page, language, genres, and annotation. Storyliner can optionally use an AI-assisted service to extract manuscript characters and create cards in the Artifact Management Board; this may require account credit. The platform can also split a supported manuscript into chapters automatically by detecting standard chapter structures, at no additional cost. Storyliner supports common text and book file formats for project import.
