This example changes a regular linear project into a branching project. A linear plotline moves chapter by chapter in one direction. A branching plotline supports multiple paths and reader choices. After changing the project to branching, the writer can add a plotline and build an alternative path with its own chapter sequence inside the same project. Fork grains introduce the point where a story prepares to split, including the reader choice that leads to another plotline. In Graphical Storyliner, the writer can connect plotlines visually. The graph shows how storylines lead into one another, where splits happen, and how readers may move through the book. This keeps branching logic visible and helps organize chapters, choices, and plotlines as the project grows.
