The Raven
This poem is a descent—calm, then sudden—into the dim corridors of grief. A solitary scholar, steeped in sorrow and lost in midnight musings, is visited not by comfort, but by a bird: black as despair, and just as unyielding. It speaks but a single word—"Nevermore"—and yet with that one word, it unravels the fragile fabric of the narrator’s reason. Is the raven a demon? A prophet? Or merely a mirror of the man’s unraveling soul? The chamber, shadowed and still, becomes a theatre of memory and madness, where the aching echo of Lenore haunts every breath. The Raven is not a tale of terror alone, but of obsession, of beauty decayed, and the cruel constancy of loss. It asks not only what is gone—but why it must stay gone.
