The Divine Comedy
This is no mere poem, but a journey of the soul. In The Divine Comedy, I lead the reader from the depths of Inferno, through the climbing hope of Purgatorio, and at last into the radiant order of Paradiso. It is the story of a man lost in a dark wood, who, guided by reason and grace, finds the path back to truth, to love, and to God. Each realm reflects the moral architecture of the universe—where every choice has weight, every action echoes in eternity, and justice is not vengeance but order restored. I wrote in the language of the people, for this is a vision for all souls, not just the learned. Though I speak of angels, demons, and the stars, this is no fantasy. It is an allegory of human life, of exile and return, of knowledge and humility, of sin and redemption. If you follow me through the fire and the stars, know that I have walked there not as a saint, but as a sinner seeking light. This is not a tale of escape, but of awakening—and at the journey’s end, you may see, as I did, that "the love that moves the sun and the other stars" is the final truth of all things.
